The candidate will develop experimental activities focusing on the limits of incorporating heavy lanthanide ions (typically Gd to Lu) into various uranium oxide structures (UO2, U3O8, UO3, etc.). Primary responsibilities include:
- Conducting co-precipitation methods to synthesize the oxides.
- Extensive characterization of the synthesized materials using techniques such as XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and XAS.
